Ayeswarya Ravikumar is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Houston, college of Optometry (UHCO). Ayeswarya did her Bachelors in Optometry from Elite School of Optometry, India (2006). After this she worked in the pediatric and contact lens departments in Sankara Nethralaya Eye hospital, Chennai. During her work in the contact lens department, she became motivated in fitting Rose K lenses in keratoconus eyes and wanted to do her research on improving the vision in keratoconus eyes.  In 2008, She joined the PhD program at UHCO and her PhD dissertation was on “Predicting Visual Performance in normal and Keratoconic eyes”. Her research focuses on understanding the optical limits of eye and improving the visual performance of highly aberrated eyes, and in individuals with special needs. Ayeswarya likes to be in academia and is involved in teaching, research and service. She is a recipient of the American Optometric Foundation Ezell Fellowship and she has received several travel grants to the American Academy of Optometry and ARVO.
