Fayiz Mahgoub


Fayiz Mahgoub is a fourth-year Optometry student at Western University College of Optometry in Pomona, California.

His Optometric interests include Vision Therapy, Neuro-Optometry and Specialty Contact Lenses. Fayiz has a passion for serving the profession of optometry and giving back to underserved communities. As a first-year student, Fayiz served as president of his university’s COVD and NORA student clubs. He then went on to establish a contact lens club and as well as a sports vision club at Western University College of Optometry. Fayiz has also served as National President of the National Optometric Student Association (NOSA). As a student, Fayiz regularly volunteered in local vision screenings in southern California as well as participating in international service trips to Mexico, Jamaica and Tanzania.

In 2017 Fayiz received the National Optometric Association’s “Student Of The Year” award.
