The Optical Foundation Early Career Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Optometry
We are accepting candidates nominations for The Optical Foundation Early Career Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Optometry Award.
This annual award is presented to an individual less than 6 years post-graduation who has made a significant contribution to the practice and development of optometry and/or the visual enhancement of the public, commensurate with their stage of career experience, and who has distinguished themselves among their peers, for example, through leadership.
What makes this such a prestigious award is that the winner is offered a one-year mentorship program in one of the following focus areas of their choice: Clinical, Academia, Industry and Public health in optometry.
The deserving recipient of the award will be presented the award at the Ghana Optometric Association (GOA) General meeting.
Requirements for nominations
- A letter of nomination from a GOA member, explaining why the nominee is particularly deserving of the award for which the nomination has been made.
- A copy of the CV of the nominee.
- A letter seconding the nomination – this can be from anyone with a knowledge of the nominee’s activities and achievements.
- Personal statement (limit of 500 words)
Submission deadline
Nominations for candidates need be submitted to The Optical Foundation Advisory Committee no later than August 20, 2024 12:00 GMT.
