THIS IS WHAT WE DO

Comprehensive Eye Exams Conducted

We provide children with free comprehensive eye examinations and make glasses available, while driving the local development of education & research in the field of Optometry.

Opportunities Created for Ghanaian Optometry Students

We run educational programs for Ghanaian Optometry students & optometrists, support local universities & eye clinics, and facilitate research in eye health science in Ghana.

Our Objectives

EDUCATION

To provide Ghanaian optometry students with training to become eye specialist in their own country, by letting them perform eye tests under supervision at primary schools, orphanages and other communities.

RESEARCH

To provide lecturing tours in Ghana, provide travel grants for Ghanaian optometry students, and  establish scientific research projects in Ghana.

EYE EXAMS

To make eye care accessible to everyone in Ghana, especially for children by providing spectacles for children who need them and stimulating the local economy by buying lenses in Ghana.

We Have the Power to Impact The Future of Optometry, and We’re Doing Something About It

The biggest cause of blindness is easily preventable by providing prescription glasses, yet approximately 84 million people in Africa are unnecessary blind or have bad vision, because they don’t have access to this relatively inexpensive solution.

It’s The Optical Foundation goal to make eye care accessible in the developing world through comprehensive eye examinations, education and research.
